Joyce is a community organizer and lives to make change in her neighborhood and beyond. She started Our Plate Runneth Over, which serves community brunch every Saturday. She is a leader of the Friends of Freedom Square at The Sanctuary and organizes an annual event that gives free backpacks to school children. Joyce is a Deaconess at United Ordained Church. She helps coordinate Troy Turkey Trot’s Marshals each year, and is a board member of Volunteer Recreational Organizations for Youth of Troy.
