Barbara Nelson
Lead Architect and Community Engagement Director
Barbara is a long-time Troy resident and architect who believes that community design and public art can be catalysts to better disadvantaged communities. She is currently the executive director of TAP Inc., which focuses on urban revitalization, architectural preservation, sustainability, fair housing and removal of architectural barriers. Her passion for urban revitalization led her to teach Community Planning and lead a HUD Community Outreach Partnership Center at RPI. She also served on Troy’s Planning Commission for 10 years. Barbara co-founded Transport Troy to promote complete streets and urban trails.
